Hi gurus,
I have a directory that is currently under the / filesystem, let's call it /dir. Now this has grown quite alot and I want to mount it against it's own partition as it's own filesystem. The question is what's the best way to do this ? Can I -
A) Just mount the filesystem against the new partition on the fly (I am doubting you can do this)
B) Change /etc/vfstab to reflect the new mount point for /dir and reboot ?
C) While the machine is up, copy /dir to the new partition, and blow away the current /dir and mount it to new partition ?
D) Other ?
I am running Solaris 8 on E420, straight mounts to physical disk, ie, no mirroring, concat's, stripes etc.
Thanks in advance
Tis
