Dear all,

to use a DVD+RW like a hard drive at our SunBlade 100 under Solaris 8
we called Joerg Schilling's tool:

#cdrecord-prodvd dev=1,5,0 -format -v

It produced this output:

Format was not needed.
Starting to write CD/DVD at speed 2 in real FORMAT mode for single session.
Last chance to quit, starting real write 0 seconds. Operation starts.
This drive or media does not support the 'FORMAT media' command
/opt/schily/bin/cdrecord-prodvd: Cannot format medium.

What's wrong here? In the next step we want to create a new filesystem
on the device i.e.

 #mkfs -F udfs /dev/rdsk/c1t5d0s?

but this procedure also didn't work.

Any hints, tipps are welcome!
