Our config: (Qty 2) v480, each has 2 Qlogic qla2300 (Qty 2) e420r, each
has 1 Qlogic qla2300
All running Solaris 5.8 and VxVM ver. 3.5,REV=06.21.2002.23.14
(Qty 2) Qlogic SANbox2 64
(Qty 6) Sun A5200 JBOD
Everything runs fine until we need to replace a failed disk. What happens is
as follows:
VxVM detects a problem and successfully performs the relocation.
>From the A5200 we offline the failed disk and wait for it to spin down.
We remove the failed and insert the new disk and bring it online.
At this point in time some or all of our systems will hang.
If we offline and online the new disk a second time it seems to resolve the
issue and the hung systems continue to run as if nothing happened.
btw these are not the Qlogic OEM SUN cards so we can't use luxadm.
Any ideas as to why this is happening?
