Solaris 9: Interface not loading on Solaris bootup

Greetings,

I have a Solaris 9 server. It is exhibiting an odd problem I have never
encountered before. On startup the driver for the network card is not
loaded and the networks are not started. There is a hostname.e1000g0
file in /etc (its an Intel nic) that maps to a valid IP in /etc/hosts .
I can plumb the interface etc... after boot up and it sees the card
brings up the network etc... Any idea as to why it is not loading the
network on boot up? Which startup script controls when it scans the
/etc/drivers_aliases and loads the appropriate drivers on bootup?

Thanks in advance,
Liz
