dual-host access to A1000 for fail-over using DiskSuite ?

Hi,

is it possible to physically connect 2 servers to 2 A1000s in such a way, that
one machine could access the LUNs written by the other machine, in case the
latter is down and the first machine wants to take over the applications of
the failed server ? How should the cabling be done of the SCSI-cables, and how
should the array be configured to allow access by two servers to a same LUN ?

Using Veritas Volume Mgr, this is relatively easy, using DiskGroups that you
'import' on the fail-over server.

Is there some similar feature in the recent versions of SolStice Disksuite,
which would implement similar 'locking' (to prevent unintended access of LUNs
by one server while the other server still accesses them as well) and
'unlocking' ?

VxVM is quite expensive, that's why I am looking at features in Solaris that
come bundled, so are at no additional cost.

TIA

Rob
