Adding OS Software Clusters to a System

Gurus:

Given that the most basic component of the Solaris OS is a SOFTWARE PACKAGE;
and that packages are bundled in SOFTWARE CLUSTERS; and that these groups are
in turn bundled into SOFTWARE GROUPS...

We did an initial installation of the core operating environment (the
'SUNWCreq' SOFTWARE GROUP) on my E3500 and now that we've rolled the system
back to production, my DBAs are telling me that they need CDE installed, as
well.

How do I now install the 'SUNWCdtrun' SOFTWARE CLUSTER (which contains the
packages that are related to the Common Desktop Environment runtime
environment, I think) while my system is still up and running?

I could add packages such as the following manually...

SUNWxwacx SUNWxwdxm SUNWxwfa SUNWxwfnt SUNWxwice SUNWxwicx SUNWxwinc SUNWxwman
SUNWxwplt SUNWxwplx SUNWxwpmn SUNWxwslb

...but there will very well be software dependencies which are not present on
my system.

I know I can download and install GNOME from the Download section of sun.com,
and that's my backup plan, but what is my shortest path to CDE installation,
again, while my system is live?
