console conections causing crash

Hi all,
I have a couple of Netra T1s (AC200) .and CP2040 sparc cards.
The project requirements are that they have console access for root
only.

The problem I have, is that engineers connect to the console with their
laptops.
If they disconnect the serial cable from the laptop or reboot their
laptop, the Netra's an CP2040 immediately drop to the OK prompt.

Is there any way to stop the crashing?
Alternatively, is there anyway to make the boxes boot up as normal
instead of hanging at the prompt?
I've set the usual auto-boot-on-error?=true but it still sticks at the
prompt for the above console problem. If I just simply disconnect power
to the box and turn back on, it DOES start up normally.

Cheers
Dan
