Hi gurus,
I have an external SCSI DDS3 tape drive(inserted in a UNIPACK)
which is connected to an ULTRA 10.
When i do,
#mt -f /dev/rmt/1 st ,
the system hangs.

I checked the /dev/rmt directory, it contains only 0( for internal QIC tape
drive) and 1(for the DDS3 tape drive) .
When i do
#mt -f /dev/rmt/0 st,
it displays the information of the QIC tape drive.

I removed all the files in /dev/rmt directory and did a reconfigure boot(
reboot -- -r). After the reboot both 0 and 1 files were created again in
/dev/rmt directory but while probing the status of device 1 , the system
hangs.
The system detects the tape drive at O.K prompt.

WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM???????????????????

REPLY

Regards
SS
