Solaris 8 Portuguese character set support.

Hi Gurus,

I have Sun Solaris 8 (US English). I want to have support for other languages
as well such as Portuguese character set.

Say I need to create a folder with Portuguese character set name "gcq " it
doesn't work.

My .profile is set to

NLS_NCHAR=UTF8

NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8

I tried my .profile with

NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.UTF8:pt_PT.ISO8859-1 to support Portuguese
characters but it didn't help.

Do I have to install/set anything else to support these? I have Solaris 8 5/03
(Entire Distribution Plus OEM Support) installed.

Any Help will be greatly appreciated.
