V480R with 2 x JNI FCX-6562

We have 3 Sun V480R systems each with 2 single channel JNI FCX-6562 (not
the -L version) fibre channel cards.
They are connected to 4 brocade 3800 switches through to two XP1024.
When test-all is run from the OpenBoot, the cards appear to fail self
test and stay marked afterwards.

How do I "unmark" them, or fix the reason they are failing - do I need
card firmware: 1.0b14?
The test fails with or without the commands " dev
/pci@8,600000/SUNW,jfca@1" followed by "false is init-link?"
During the normal boot from the internal disks the system reports:
      WARNING: status 'fail' for '/pci@8,700000/SUNW,jfca@5'
      WARNING: status 'fail' for '/pci@8,600000/SUNW,jfca@1'
and the cards are no longer reported under "prtdiag"
