4800 won't boot off cdrom

Hello managers,

I have a sunfire 4800 with a failing boot drive in the attached d240. unfortunately this is not mirrored as the second drive is being used in the second domain.

In the attempt to replace the drive and reload the OS, I am unable to boot from the cdrom drive using "boot cdrom". Keep getting "can't open boot device". The light on the drive turns on while it is trying to read the drive but will not boot from the disk.

Using Solaris 2/02 1 of 2 cd and firmware is 5.14.4.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
