NIS password "Permission Denied"

Hi Everyone,

I just configured an NIS domain and server at a site in India and am having
the follwing problem:

Everything seems to be running (yppasswdd, ypserv, ypbind), ypwhich shows the
right binding,
ypcat -k passwd shows the right users. However, when I log in as any of the
users and try to
change the password (or I try to change it as root), I get the following:

# passwd users1
New Password:
Re-enter new Password:
Permission denied
#

I've looked through all the summaries I can find regarding this and have tried
all the suggestions
and have had no luck.. Anyone think of something I might have missed???

Thanks,
Mark Gosselin
