Hi all,
I'm just a beginner and I need a help.
I have a problem with the file system type of a disk.
At the moment the disk is on a SUN netra t1 (Solaris 2.8) but it belongs to
a SUN E450 (Solaris 2.8 )
A few days ago I've dumped a slice of the disk from the netra t1 to the tape
the netra is connected to and removed the disk from the slot.
now I've putted the disk on the netra again and I need to mount it (on my
/backup directory) but I cannot manage to do it.
The disk has two slices:
s0
s2 (backup)
when I try to:
#mount /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s0 /backup/
or I type:
#mount /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s2 /backup/
i have this answer:
mount: /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s0 is not this fstype.
if I type:
fsck -y /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s0
it answers:
fsck: operation not applicable to FSType swap
but I often find this message on the s0 slice
so I try:
fstyp /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s2
it answers:
Unknown_fstyp (no matches)
and if I type:
fsck -y /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s2
it answers:
** /dev/dsk/c0t1d0s2
BAD SUPER BLOCK: MAGIC NUMBER WRONG
USE AN ALTERNATE SUPER-BLOCK TO SUPPLY NEEDED INFORMATION;
eg. fsck [-F ufs] -o b=# [special ...]
where # is the alternate super block. SEE fsck_ufs(1M).
I have the same problem and same messages with another disk of the E450 that
I've never managed to read on the netra t1.
what does it mean?
Any help will be appreciated.
