Data copy issues: Filesync?

Greetings Forumers,

We are planning to do a huge data copy between servers by NFS. Performance is
a big issue, indeed.

We have to copy various filesystems from E10000 domains in the shortest time
as possible. The total amount could get up to 750Gb.

We already did tests performing various simultaneous tars from one to another
over NFS. As many simultaneous tars we do, better perfromance we get (1 Gb/m,
1.40 Gb/m peak). We are using Gigabit Ethernet point-to point. NFS over UDP.

But.... we are looking for a better and more reliable way to do this and I am
studying, among others, filesync. We won4t have the proper infra to test it
for a while, so I ask:

1 - Anyone want to share experiences with filesync ?
2 - How it works internally? Does it copy the files sequentially or
"multiplex" the copies?
3 - How is its overall performance?
4 - Any suggestion? Any better way to do the job?

Thanks in advance,

Filipe Litaiff
