Hello,
i'm trying to setup a jumpstart install server but
have 2 problems.
1.) i cant seem to access the dvd on a v480 running
solaris 9 with a dvd bay. i put the dvd in, and
although 'volcheck -v /dev/sr0' shows there is media,
i can seem to access our mount the disc.
# ls -al /cdrom
total 4
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 512 Mar 11 18:13
.
drwxr-xr-x 25 root root 512 Mar 30 00:25
..
# volcheck -v /dev/sr0
/dev/sr0 has media
# mount /dev/sr0 /cdrom
mount: Device busy
mount: Cannot open /dev/sr0
i've tried the same using a sol9 cdrom on a 450 (w/
sol9 and cdrom drive) and get the same responses. am i
entering the right command?
2.) next, since that didnt work, i mounted the sol 9
cd's (sparc ver) on a linux x86 box, copied it to a
file server which is a mount on the jumpstart install
box.
#Solaris_9/Tools
bash-2.05# ./setup_install_server
/snap/jumpstart-media-solaris9/
ERROR: <remote mount> is not a local filesystem,
cannot export <path on remote mount> for install
clients
so i copied the files over to the local mount.
# ./setup_install_server /jumpstart-install-path/
ERROR: Install boot image Solaris_9/Tools/Boot does
not exist
Check that boot image exists, or use [-t] to
specify a valid boot image elsewhere.
and infact, it's not there. what is s1 ?
Boot -> ../../../s1
Thanks for your help, it'd be really nice to know why
i couldn't access/mount the dvd or cdrom.
