HI,
Does anyone know the ports used by NFS?
We have firewalls between two solaris 8 servers.
the firewall is blocking the NFS mount
I need to find out the ports used by NFS in order to ask
Security to open up the firewall rule.
Regards,
Ken

Hi,
To make it possible to configure a firewall that controls NFS, you must
tie down the following services to fixed ports:
mountd
lockd
statd
Quotad
By default, the above use random ports, which will cause problems
regardless of what you open on the FW.
nfsd is already running on a fixed port (2049) tcp/udp, and portmapper
also runs on a fixed port (111) tcp/udp.
Cheers!
