OpenSSH2passwxp26 & rootforcing passwd problem

hey,

I've installed OpenSSH2passwxp26 (works fine for few months by the way) and
unfortunatelly I have root-forcing passwd problem with logins that have more
than 8 characters (the problem arised receantly when the passwords started
aging);
the strangest thing is that this happen only on one Solaris 7 server (the rest
Solaris 7 & Solaris 8 are OK!!!);
Solaris 7 servers are the same configured and patched on the same level
(2/Feb/04), it might be some minor local differencies but not on the OS
level;
I know that the problem is the local one- only on one of my servers, but I got
the following passwd error-message in syslog:

Mar 24 10:41:06 sunserver2 sshd[21069]: User dluga-nazwauzytk password has
expired (root forced)
Mar 24 10:41:08 sunserver2 sshd[21069]: Accepted password for dluga-nazwauzytk
from
 170.141.10.191 port 3211 ssh2
Mar 24 10:41:08 sunserver2 sshd[21281]: fatal: Failed to change password for
dluga-nazwauzytk, passwd returned 256

does anyone know what could be the problem?

thanks in advance,
DK
