Hi,

We have a Sun Fire V880 connected to an EMC Clariion 400 SAN.

I have an issue which I trigger by zipping and unzipping a lot of
Unix Patches and the machine hangs. Basically a large amount of I/O and
not necessarily through the HBA's to the SAN.

I then have to 'Stop-A' to reboot the machine as 'init 0' or 'reboot'
commands do not work.

Just looking to see if anyone has had this type of problem before
and what the solution was.

I have applied the latest batch of Solaris 8 Recommended Patches, plus
a whole bunch more recommened by Sun using a report from an Explorer output.

The server information is:
Sun Fire V880
4 x 900Mhz CPU
8Gb RAM
2 x 2Gb FC HBAs
6 x 73Gb Internal Disks
6 x 73Gb SAN Disks

O/S - Solaris 8.

Thank you
Craig.
