OFF-TOPIC: Reading & restoring from command line a netbackup generated tape WITHOUT netbackup

Greetings fellow forumers,

Sorry for the offtopic issue (well, it is on the subject...), but this is a
great forum and I think someone here may have tried this before.

Lets say netbackup wrote two filesystems on a LTO tape. The tape is removed
from the library.

Is there any tool to do restore from this LTO tape to a filesystem WITHOUT
Netbackup? I mean, I4ve heard that Netbackup uses a format that is somewhat
similar to "tar", but I coulnd4t work on it yet (make a proper lab for
testing).

The idea is to backup those filesystems on a LTO tape, and eventually restore
it on other palce, in a way similar to "tar -xvf /dev/rmt/0n".

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Filipe.
