Hello SunManagers

We are running NIS+ on a Solaris 8 NIS+ root-master server. Recently we have suffered
inadvertant deletion of many of the entries in the mail_aliases.org_dir table. We wish to
restore this table from a point just prior to the deletions. We use Veritas Netbackup to
carry out overnight incremental backups during the week , with full backups taking place
at the weekend. If we simply restored the file /var/nis/data/mail_aliases.org_dir from
a Veritas backup , would this work , or would the NIS+ data be inconsistent ? We are
not concerned about losing the changes made since the deletions.

In addition to the Veritas backups , we also have a flat-file backups of mail_aliases.org_dir
made using 'niscat -h'

I will summarise , thanks in advance
