Sun Managers,
I am trying to distribute scripts to remote servers using rdist. Up until
now I was just dealing with Solaris and all worked as expected but now I
have to distribute to other types of Unix including...
HP...
$ uname -a
HP-UX aacedar B.11.00 U 9000/800 603379363 unlimited-user license
Silicon Graphics...
$ uname -a
IRIX64 holmes 6.5 04131233 IP27
But it fails as follows...
$ rdist -f $ORACLE_BASE/lbin/dba_ora_rdist_p.dat -d
'SERVERS=(aacedar.research.aa.wl.com)'
updating host aacedar.research.aa.wl.com
rdist: connection failed: version numbers don't match
$ rdist -f $ORACLE_BASE/lbin/dba_ora_rdist_p.dat -d
'SERVERS=(holmes.research.aa.wl.com)'
updating host holmes.research.aa.wl.com
rdist: connection failed: version numbers don't match
The server I am using to distribute from uses rdist as ships with Solaris
2.8...
$ uname -a
SunOS gsun788 5.8 Generic_108528-07 sun4u sparc SUNW,Ultra-30
My question... how can I get this to work? Is there some version of rdist
around that will work between servers from differing vendors?
