All,
I'm re-exmining the compression utilities I normally use and wanted to get
an idea from the list as to which way the wind is blowing. The OS is
Solaris 8 and I've been using gzip pretty much exclusively. I just wanted
to get a idea what your impressions/experiences are of the available
(open-source) compression utilities in terms of packing ratio, speed, data
consistency and largefiles handling.
