Hi All,
i run solaris 8 with latest patches on 12 boxes
they all use Sun freeware ntp to connect to our internal ntp server, i also
tried using sun xntpd (SUNWntpr and SUNWntpu).
None of the servers seem to be getting the time correctly from our internal
ntp server, i think its a problem with our internal ntp server.
I checked the internal ntp server and it claims to be running ntp.

-Does it need to run a certain version of ntp for my solaris8 clients to
sync off it?

-How can i tell if i am correctly syncing off the time server?

here is my solaris ntp.conf file:
root# cat /etc/ntp.conf
server mytimeserver prefer

and here is the output of "ntpq -p"

thanks in advance gurus!
