Canceling a Print Job as SuperUser (root) in Solaris 9

All,

Root can not cancel queued print requests for any user
including itself. I receive the error "permission denied".

If I set user-equivalence to "true" for the print queue, then
root can cancel print requests for that print queue.

I should not need to set user-equivalence for the print queue
in order to have root cancel print jobs.

Has anyone else seen this happen with Solaris 9?
