Hi all,
Thanks to those of you who replied.
Special thanks to Gary Chambers who solved the problem -
In summary these are the things I tried BEFORE posting, some of which you
suggested, but NONE of them worked for some reason -
None of these worked -
nothing in the password field in /etc/shadow
NP in the password field in /etc/shadow
passwd -d username ----> Run as root, this surprisingly returned
"permission denied" Will be looking into this
The only thing that worked as detailed below was
passwd -r files <username>
with 2 strikes of the <ENTER> key to enter nothing as password.
Thanks all
Trev

passwd -r files <account>
Enter password: <ENTER>
Confirm password: <ENTER>
