I have a system which was dumped and restored onto another box. It was taken
from an E6500 and restored onto a domain in an E6800.
The problem I am having is that the name_to_major file is drastically
different than what is actually on the box for the /dev and /devices directory
entries. I have booted the machine to CD and repaired enough of the file to
allow it to boot. I am now in single user mode.
My question is this, is there a way to recreate the "name_to_major" file for a
box? If not, what is the recommended method of rebuilding this file?
