Hello to all.....

I have a Sun V880 which currently uses 16 tape drives in a robot controlled by
Veritas Netbackup.
The plan is...to add a further 8 drives, but I'm not sure what changes need to
be made to the /kernel/drv/st.conf file in order for the OS to see them.

We currently have 16 drives as seen below in /dev/rmt

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 44 Jan 6 08:23 0cbn ->
../../devices/pci@8,700000/scsi@1/st@5,0:cbn

These are visible between 3 separate JNI cards as follows:

JNI,FCE, instance #0
/pci@8,700000/JNI,FCE@5

crw------- 1 root sys 33,606 Feb 20 04:21 st@0,0:cbn

JNI,FCE, instance #2
/pci@8,700000/JNI,FCE@3

crw------- 1 root sys 33,349 Feb 20 08:28 st@0,0:cbn

/dev/rmt/3cbn
crw------- 1 root sys 33,477 Feb 20 08:27 st@3,0:cbn
/dev/rmt/4cbn

The 8 new drives are to be visible down the following, newly installed JNI
card

JNI,FCE, instance #3
/pci@9,700000/JNI,FCE@2

My question really, is what changes do I need to make to the st.conf file, in
order to see these extra drives from this card (on a different pci bus -
(pci@9)
Would the fact that this card is pci@9, mean that I need to add extra lines
for each target, using lun2, in the st.conf file etc ? or am I way off the
mark !?!
Current st.conf is below:

name="st" class="scsi" target=0 lun=0;
name="st" class="scsi" target=0 lun=1;
name="st" class="scsi" target=1 lun=0;
name="st" class="scsi" target=1 lun=1;
name="st" class="scsi" target=2 lun=0;
name="st" class="scsi" target=2 lun=1;
name="st" class="scsi" target=3 lun=0;
name="st" class="scsi" target=3 lun=1;
name="st" class="scsi" target=4 lun=0;
name="st" class="scsi" target=4 lun=1;
name="st" class="scsi" target=5 lun=0;
name="st" class="scsi" target=5 lun=1;
name="st" class="scsi" target=6 lun=0;
name="st" class="scsi" target=6 lun=1;
name="st" class="scsi" target=7 lun=0;
name="st" class="scsi" target=7 lun=1;

Apologies if this seems an obvious question, but this is really confusing me
!

Thanks

Andy Hardy
