Hi there,

I am setting up two machines for rsh, the problem is that I am getting
a "permission denied" . This happens when I try and rsh to the
localhosts as well.

I have checked the /etc/inetd.conf file, so I have uncommented the
following lines

shell stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/bin/tcpd /usr/sbin/in.rshd
shell stream tcp6 nowait root /usr/local/bin/tcpd /usr/sbin/in.rshd
login stream tcp6 nowait root /usr/local/bin/tcpd /usr/sbin/in.rlogind
exec stream tcp nowait root /usr/local/bin/tcpd /usr/sbin/in.rexecd
exec stream tcp6 nowait root /usr/local/bin/tcpd /usr/sbin/in.rexecd

I have also changed my /etc/hosts.allow to ALL: ALL
I do not have a hosts.equiv or host.deny on the server.

I have also checked the /etc/pam.conf file, so that is fine.

All I wanna do is a rsh hostname date.

I have checked the permissions on date, and that looks fine as well

Anyone know what else I can check ???
Regards
Mike
