Hardware solution:

Software solution (Solaris 9 12/03 or better) see
http://docs.sun.com/db/doc/817-0690/6mgflntjs?q=ramdisk&a=view

or if not Solaris 9, maybe -

Thanks to:
Darren Dunham
Derek Olsen
and to Rich Teer who reminded me about:

"If RAM gets in short supply, the kernel will happily page out
stuff on the RAM disk to swap (unless the pages are locked in
memory). Given enough RAM, something in a VM backed /tmp will
not be paged to disk, and hence will be equivelent to a RAM disk."

It is true that using a RAM DISK may NOT be the best solution or the best usage
of real memory. Your mileage may vary.

Thx/Bill
