hi
i'm having a problem with a brand new sun fire v440
....
I configured the network management port, i'm at the
ok prompt i try
boot disk, configs /dev and /devices, it reads
whatever cd i have in (8 7/01, or 9), reboots then
shows
cannot open kernel/sparcv9/unix.
If i manually put in
/platform/SUNW,Sun-Fire/kernel/sparcv9/unix
i then get asked where modules are and it fails at
that.
I've tried boot cdrom, boot cdrom install, -s etc and
can't get much...
It seems to show a banner of solaris 8 108528-22 which
is probably much later than any 8 i have disks of. But
if i can't use it with what it has on it i'm happy to
reinstall the os. anything to get it up and running...
I seem to be missing something obvious....i've been
through all the pdfs they all seem to make it sound
like it just works, and it has on previous e250's i've
had but i've not done a fire before...
