adobe and netscape 7

I am trying out netscape 7 on my solaris 9 workstation and I cannot seem
to get the adobe reader to work within netscape 7 as a helper
application. I have been able to see an error message (one that usually
disappears faster than I can read it) that states that it cannot open
/tmp/{somefilename}.pdf. I still have the netscape 4.8 installed on my
system and it has no problems opening pdf files as a helper application.
One thing I did see is that the 4.8 netscape version will open the pdf
file as some strange name like M40ST489G3.pdf, but the netscape 7
version downloads the pdf file into /tmp with the real file name but it
leaves the .pdf file in /tmp since the acroread application aborted.

Anyone else have this problem and fixed it? I have downloaded xpdf and
it works as a helper application with netscape 7.
