what do those of you running sun one directory server do wrt things like mysql? ie, a service that may only run on one or two systems in a network, that needs its own user/group id?

do you just create a local user/group and keep the service out of the directory?

and if so, what if the db files are on shared storage?

or do you create a a different user object for each server's db engine and make each the owner of its respective data store on the shared storage?

what about groups? i must admit i'm a little in the dark wrt s.o.d.s' 'group' cf 'Group' ... and then there is the 'services' ou ?

guess i'm wondering if mysql account/s in a directory should be 1) there at all, 2) group? 3) Group? 4) service?

thx in advance, as always.
