Hi all,

        I have been looking for documentation about /var/cron/log and I
didn't find anything other than a few lines explaining how to enable the
logging. Anybody knows where I can get information about how to read the
/var/cron/log file? The content is something like:

> CMD: /export/home/rlogic/RETAIL_LOGIC/PAYMENT/cron1|mailx -c
james@alphyra.ie -s "Cluster: DCC(Solvese2) Exchg Rate and Binary on `date
'+
> rlogic 17584 c Thu May 23 17:18:00 2002
< rlogic 17584 c Thu May 23 17:18:00 2002 rc=1
> CMD: /export/home/rlogic/RETAIL_LOGIC1/PAYMENT/cron1|mailx -c
james@alphyra.ie -s "Cluster: DCC(Solvese1) Exchg Rate and Binary on `date
'+
> rlogic 22457 c Thu May 23 22:00:00 2002
< rlogic 22457 c Thu May 23 22:00:00 2002 rc=1
> CMD: /export/home/rlogic/RETAIL_LOGIC/PAYMENT/cron1|mailx -c
james@alphyra.ie -s "Cluster: DCC(Solvese2) Exchg Rate and Binary on `date
'+
> rlogic 23007 c Thu May 23 22:30:00 2002
< rlogic 23007 c Thu May 23 22:30:00 2002 rc=1
> CMD: /export/home/rlogic/RETAIL_LOGIC1/PAYMENT/cron2|mailx -c
james@alphyra.ie -s "Cluster: DCC(Solvese1) Payment file on `date '+
> rlogic 24675 c Fri May 24 00:05:00 2002
< rlogic 24675 c Fri May 24 00:05:00 2002 rc=1
> CMD: /export/home/rlogic/RETAIL_LOGIC/PAYMENT/cron2|mailx -c
james@alphyra.ie -s "Cluster: DCC(Solvese2) Payment file on `date '+
> rlogic 25583 c Fri May 24 00:55:00 2002
< rlogic 25583 c Fri May 24 00:55:00 2002 rc=1
> CMD: [ -x /usr/sbin/rtc ] && /usr/sbin/rtc -c > /dev/null 2>&1
> root 26792 c Fri May 24 02:01:00 2002
< root 26792 c Fri May 24 02:01:00 2002 rc=1
> CMD: [ -x /usr/lib/gss/gsscred_clean ] && /usr/lib/gss/gsscred_clean
> root 28363 c Fri May 24 03:30:00 2002
< root 28363 c Fri May 24 03:30:00 2002

        How do you determine if the cron job was successfull or not from
here? I suppose it's something to do with rc=1, but there are other cases
where I get rc=2 or nothing? What does this mean?

thanks a lot,
Asier
