Hello:
Trying to bring an A5200 back to life. Made hardware repairs to the
enclosure. But now the enclosure
thinks it has 14 slots. This is a 22 slot enclosure. There are no
hardware errors in the arrays console
display.
Here's the tail of woa:
* Enclosure configured to run full loop. 11 disks on loop A.
11 disks on loop B.
* Lost a loop. Diagnosis shows bad IB board. Replaced an IB
board.
* Ten minutes following replacement of IB board, the array loses
the other IB board.
Array console also reveals two bad GBICs.
* Finally: Replace both boards in the array. Replace all four
GBICs. Power up
array and all looks well. No more hardware failures.
* Now the array thinks it is a 14 slot array. 7 disks on loop A.
7 disks on loop B.
Even support people are stumped.
H e l p !!
Lorraine
