Thanks to all that have responded. I got so stressed with he fact that I
didn't know the OS that I forgot to check the basics. Perhaps I should
check into a Valume prescription the next time this goes south...
Anyway, thanks to several suggestions to DC the CD drive and try again I
now have the box back up and running. We will be replacing the CD drive
shortly.
Thanks to everyone for such a fast and comprehensive set of responses. I
will remember this list for any other issues that I can't figure out in the
future.
