Thanks all for your help but as suggested by Laurent and Mr. Rene I just
started/etc/init.d/dtlogin start
manually and everything works fine. I then rebooted the server and the
CDE started up automatically. Thanks again to the GURU's.

Hi Guru's,
I have a situation where me UNIX workstation running SOL2.8
for some reason is not able to launch the CDE at boot time even though it's
set to do so when I built the system 2yrs. ago. Could someone tell me what
are something I need to check and adjust.
