help removing bad swap device

hello,
i have a solaris8, VxVM 3.2 server with a concatenated swap volume.
one of the disks in the swap volume died, but the volume is still
enabled and i want to remove it as a swap device before things get
worse. when i run

        # swap -d /dev/vx/dsk/swap

it returns the error:

/dev/vx/dsk/swap: No such device or address

and writes

        WARNING: swapslot_free failed 6

to /var/adm/messages.

the swap device does exist and both disks show "online" in a vxdisk
list, but it shows "disabled" in "vxdisk list disk" for the failed
disk. format can't see the disk either (unknown drive type), so
i'm thinking that "vxdctl enable" might properly offline the disk
and disable the volume.. but will that cause the system to panic
when it can't open the active swap device? i don't think that
anything too important is there now since it hasn't died yet, but
is there anything i can do before rebooting the box and replacing
the disk?

thanks!
