hi all,
a friend of mine has a netra t4, would like to have some OS on.
of course netra t4, no VGA card, no keyboard (or USB keyboard, but
this we do not own, so I try to set it up over serial)
The strange thing is, that sometimes I do have a serial connection,
sometimes I do not.
I use minicom on my linux PC to connect to the Port A on the netra.
(i even tried windows hyperterminal, but same thing)
I do not know what circumstances have an effect on the serial connection.
for two weeks I had normal serial connection, could tell the machine to
'boot net' and so on. Then there was a power-outage, (dunno if this has
somethin to do with the case) then I had no connection for a while.
The day before yesterday I had again, today again not (same cable).
What are the step-by-step instructions to set up a serial connection
to a machine? normally this works so easy, connect the cable, fire
up minicom, et voila!
where shall I search the problem?
I will definitely summarize if someone helps me out of this sh^Wproblem.
tia
