I have two servers which have randomly stopped completing logins, meaning if
I login in through ssh or telnet (over the network or serial port) I will be
prompted for username and password but it simply jumps down a line and does
not complete the login process. One of the servers is an SF4800 and I was
acquiring a session on Domain A through the console port and still had the
same issue. The ~only~ way I have been able to resolve this is REBOOT. My
assumptions are that it could be relative to the Sun Cluster patch that we
applied, the latest and greatest this past December 4th, 2003. Perhaps
needed processes are dying, I do not show any related entries in
/var/adm/messages. I have a case logged in with SUN, but honestly if anyone
knows possibilities of resolution, please advise.
