Sequence: picking a controller

Gurus,

On an E4500 with A5200 where the A5200 is running in a split loop
configuration, I have 4GBICs corresponding to c0,c1,c3,c4. c3 and c4 point
to the rear disks and c0 and c1 point to the front disks. I use the SVM and
had previously set some volumes up such that everything ran through c0 and
c3. Recently, I noticed from the metastat output that the disks now show
using controller c4 instead of c3. I'm not sure how this happened. My
question is, "what sequence is used to determine which controller will be
set to access the underlying disks?" Why is it saying c4 when c3 should be
used? All of the disks are now in a "Last Erred" mode and I find it
difficult to repair them since the metadb information all references c3 and
c0.

Has anyone seen this happen and if so how can it be resolved? I tried
devfsadm and metadevadm which at one point seemed to get them to c3 again
but a subsequent reboot sent them back onto c4.

Thanks,

Brian Lucas, MCSE, OCP
