Hello all,
On a system running solaris 8 (K19) and vxvm 3.2, when a disk is initialised as
altboot and on running vxrootmir altboot command - I find that rootvolume
starts only on cylinder 1 (i.e. sector 2889) - rather than cylinder 0 and
sector 0 (as it is in the original rootdisk - which was encapsulated).
tried to keep the private region forcibly at the end of the disk by using the
vxdisksetup -i xxxxxx privoffset=-2000 - checked the prtvtoc and could see the
private region at the end of the disk - then tried running vxrootmir still the
start cylinder of the rootvol-02 sd is cylinder 1 - tried doing a mirror of
another volume (opt) rather than root volume and even that starts only in
cylinder 1.
Can anybody throw some light on this.
Regards, NR
