High Avail/Failover Email server

Hello,

I would like to configure an email server with fail over capability from
  two sunfire v240's ( or a v240 and a v120 if possible) and a dual channel
raid array. Sun sales tells me that the way to do this is by using their
Sun Cluster software. However, this solution is way too expensive for
  our budget.

Does anyone on the list have experience with a fail over server
configuration and if so, what did you use? I don't want clustering
or load balancing, just a hot spare to pick up if the main server goes
  down.

  Thanks, Tom Combs
