ShareUPS / Sun Netra T1

Hi list members,

I have the following problem concerning my configuration conists of some
SUN Netra T1 servers (running apcupsd) and an APC ShareUPS.

The ShareUPS is a device which provides seven additional simple
signaling ports for an APC SmartUPS. I meant to use these ports to
gently shut down some SUN Netra T1 servers (Solaris 9) in my server rack
using apcupsd. I want to use apcupsd because I utilise this deamon on
all my other systems. There are some special cables for APC UPSes, but
none for the SUN Netra. So I planned to make my own cable, a simple
specification is given by
http://www.apcupsd.com/3.10.x-manual/custom_simple.html . The catch is:
apcupsd uses the DCD signal of the serial Port to read the 'On Battery'
state and the serial port of the SUN Netra has no DCD pin!
Some suggestions to solve this problem? Is there someone who use a SUN
Netra in conjunction whith apcupsd and simple signaling? It is possible
to configure apcupsd to utilize another serial line (fore instance TxD,
RxD or DSR) for reading the 'On Battery' state?

Thanks
Nils
