Can't get to OK Prompt - POST Diagnostics show no problem

All,

After consulting all other sources including the summaries of Sun
Managers I have reached a dead-end. I found some similar problems but
nothing exactly equal. I have the following problem:

After two power outages in two days due to a faulty UPS we are unable to
get an OK prompt on our E250 server. We connect to the server via a
serial cable since it currently doesn't have a graphics card. We
suspected that the motherboard, a CPU, or memory had been fried due to
the faulty UPS. However, putting the server in diagnostics mode tells us
that all is well. POST runs its normal tests and doesn't indicated
anything is failing. We have swapped around memory and individually
tried the CPUs but we still can't get an OK prompt. All disk drives
appear to be fine (all show a green light). Has anyone experienced
something similar? I trust the POST diagnostics tremendously since they
have never failed me but could they be missing something? We are unable
to connect via the TTYA serial port and have also tried a TIP
connection. Before changing out the motherboard I would like to know
if anyone has any other suggestions.

Thanks in advance. Will summarize.

- James
