Dear Sun Managers !

I have a Sun Enterprise 450 with a Sun PCI Ultra3 SCSI Host Adapter (X6758)
connected to an Plasmon G238 library
with 2 LVD SCSI buses (6 SONY Magneto-optical drives inside SMO-F561
1.07).
The drivers for PCI card are ver 1.0 from www.sun.com/download
<http://www.sun.com/download>
system SUNWqus QLogic Ultra3 Scsi, (Root)
system SUNWqusu QLogic Ultra3 Scsi, (Usr)
system SUNWqusux QLogic Ultra3 Scsi, (Usr) (64-bit)
system SUNWqusx QLogic Ultra3 Scsi, (Root) (64-bit)

$ pkginfo -l SUNWqus
   PKGINST: SUNWqus
      NAME: QLogic Ultra3 Scsi, (Root)
  CATEGORY: system
      ARCH: sparc
   VERSION: 11.9.0,REV=2002.05.10.17.11
   BASEDIR: /
    VENDOR: Sun Microsystems, Inc.
DESC: Software to support Qlogic Ultra3 scsi host bus adapters
    PSTAMP: sanserve-a20031001093536
  INSTDATE: Dec 02 2003 14:52
HOTLINE: Please contact your local service provider
    STATUS: completely installed
     FILES: 3 installed pathnames
                   2 shared pathnames
                   2 directories
                   1 executables
                 213 blocks used (approx)

Also installed 112703-03 for this card.
The application running on it is Amass 5.3
The system was working well under Solaris 8. Now I upgraded to Solaris 9 64
bit, latest patch cluster without making any other hardware change and a
strange problem appears:
The library cannot eject any cartridge from any of the 6 drives, neither
under Amass control, nor when I manually press eject button on the drive,
not even when I use library front panel to eject a cartridge from a drive.
BUT, it works when I disconnect the scsi cables from the server to the
library. (I mean it works to eject a cartridge manually using the drive
eject button or using the operator panel of the library).
I know that one of the SCSI primitives allows a host to instruct a drive not
to eject removable media from a drive (which is the case for instance when
you have a mounted CD in your CD-ROM drive), but the system was working well
before upgrading to Solaris 9. It exhibits the same problem even when AMASS
jukebox drivers are completely removed.
Ould be that I hit a buf in the SUNWqus driver ?
Please help !

Best Regards,
George DONE
