German (DE) locale changes in Solaris7+

Sun managers,

This is my first post to SM, so please forgive any abnormalities.

We are having an issue with any server running Sol7 and up. In our current
production environment, we have 3 servers running proprietary report
daemons. 2 of the servers are running Sol6 and the last is Sol7. Sol6 prints
the DE date as mm/dd/yy while the Sol7 prints the DE date yy-mm-dd.

In Sol6, the /usr/lib/locale/de/de.so.1 library shows the following format:
%d.%m.%y

In Sol7+, the /usr/lib/locale/de/de.so.2 library shows the following format:
%Y-%m-%d

My question is why did it change?
Our code is pulling the date format from this library but for some reason
the date is being printed yy-mm-yy. This could be another problem, but the
original problem is still there.

Thank you,
Jamie
