Dear Sun Managers,

I've a machine it was upgraded from Solaris 8 to
Solaris 9. The machine was upgraded by selecting the
upgrade button during the OS installation.

After the upgrade, I used the admintool to create a
new user having csh and the login based directory is
in /opt.

The pwd command does not work for the new user and is
getting the following error.

sms % pwd
pwd: cannot determine current directory!

The /opt directory permission is in 755 with ownership
of root and group as sys.

I tried to create a new user with based directory in
/export/home, pwd command works!!

Can someone shed somelight on this what could be the
problem? I do not want to reinstall the OS but to find
out what is the problem.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Tim
