Folks I'd appreciate some ideas on how to implement the following
Equipment
Two MTA's
Two POP servers
Content switch for load balancing.
Currently email is received at the two MTA's via DNS mx records.
From there any local emails are delivered to the two POP servers. This
is accomplished using the Mhub [IPC] feature of sendmail.
The difficult or unknown part is how to synchronize the pop servers
That is to say if mail gets delivered to both servers then how do you
handle users popping email off only one server?
The pop servers would quickly fall out of sync?
I guess in summary is there such a thing as a pop daemon that is aware
of other pop daemons or that is capable of handling two message stores
on different servers?
Appreciate any pointers.
