Hello! I have 220R (named jcb) with Solaris 8 installed. This server is our home directories (auto_home). It has been working before and I dont have problem with it. Suddenly, the users can not access their home directories from jcb if they log in from the clients. I tried to restart automountd daemon using /etc/init.d/autofs stop and /etc/init.d/autofs start. It restarted successfully but the home directory is still not accessible from the clients. I tried to unshare the home directory (/logins) on jcb but the process just runs. I tried to stop nfsd and mountd daemon using /etc/init.d/nfs.server stop command but after pressing the enter key, it wont give me back any error message nor the command prompt. What's happening to jcb.I rebooted the server and it resolved the problem. But the thing is, the problem occured on Sunday then it occured again this morning. I'd like to know the root cause of it so that I can prevent the problem.

I am also confused with automount. Our server jcb's /etc/dfs/dfstab setting has an entry of:

share -F nfs -o root=camelot:brian:barney:elmo:bob /logins

but all of the users can still access /logins when they login to the clients even if the clients are not specified in the share command shown above. I thought that share -F nfs -o root=camelot:brian:barney:elmo:bob /logins only allow camelot, brian, barney, elmo and bob to access /logins directory from jcb.

Thanks and please advise.
