Would somebody be able to assist with a problem with my cdrom device on
Ultra 5 workstation running Sol 8, latest release.
At the ok prompt probe-ide gives the following for the cdrom
probe-ide = Device 2 (Secondary Master) Removable ATAPI Model: CRD-8322B
show-disks also sees the cdrom and provides a device path for the cdrom
/pci@1f,0/pci@1,1/ide@3/cdrom
However, once the system has been booted, the cdrom does not function vold
is running fine - I'm guessing it's some type of devic driver / package
missing which is causing the problem, although I'm not sure. Have searched
the web/sunsolve high + low to no avail, does anybody else have any good
ideas. thanks is advance and of course I will summarise.
